Local Community Contractor Development

Sustainable development and integration of Local Community Contractors (LCCs) into a customer’s supply chain plays a key role in the success of any logistics outsourcing engagement and the development of a stable local economic base.

Bahwan Exel fully understands, and is aligned to the strategic importance of LCC development and can draw upon its previous successes and learnings to support customer commitments towards developing LCC’s to acceptable standards in safety, quality, cost and performance.

The LCC “Journey to Compliance” and acceptable performance standards involves many challenges. With commitment to a long term strategy, alignment between Customer – LMS partner – Contractor, investment in resources, technology and a robust management frame-work (illustrated below) sustainable success can be achieved.

By adopting the management system approach (above) Bahwan Exel has been particularly successful in developing LCC capacity and capability across three activity verticals; Cargo Haulage, Water Haulage and Rig Moving. The breadth and scale of the activities executed by the LCC’s is indicated below;

The graphs below represent the progressive successes we have achieved in improving LCC HSE trends in one of our customer engagements.

As Local Community Contractor capability and capacity has developed over the duration of our engagement, their market share of activity has grown (as illustrated below).

Our solution offering to the customer and the consistent performance achievements over the duration of our contract have delivered significant business value and successes across the following key business drivers;
